CP #03 - Mozz The Omniscient

Many people who see Mozz suspect him to be the devil. Or at the very least, have ties with some sort of demonic entity. Which is close to the truth, in fact. Born Garrett Ivanhoe Herman, Mozz wasn't always the disturbing freak of nature he is today. A puppeteer, heavily invested in his work, Garrett had a quiet, simple life - Happily married, and expecting a child. Everything seemed to be going well. That is, until the notes started coming in.

In late April 2003, Garrett's wife, Thera, started receiving strange notes, scribbled haphazardly onto crumpled pieces of paper. They usually consisted of obscure messages, such as You have gone against His will and Death awaits the heathens and whatnot. Disturbed at first, Garrett received news that his neighbours received several notes, and would over the course of the upcoming months. Then, one day, the notes simply stopped. One of the neighbours must've contacted the police, and the culprit had been caught. Or so everyone thought.

Thera received more notes, however, three years later. Same haphazardly written notes, same crumpled paper. But the messages were different. Far more personal. And far more unsettling. Christeen [Garrett and Thera's older daughter] took a detour after school today. Would be a shame if she got lost. Your robe was gorgeous this evening. Crimson is a colour truly fit for you. Lock your doors. The Greys are coming. But perhaps the most disturbing note was the last. It simply said 1974-2006. Increasingly wary, Garrett called the police. His family was most certainly in danger, and whoever was responsible had slipped through the RCMP's radar. The officer who handled the first series of notes in 2003 told him the culprit was still in jail, and was never allowed anything resembling a pencil, pen, or even paper. Outraged, the puppeteer drove to the station to get answers. Satisfying answers.

To this day, Mozz regards doing so both a blessing, and a curse. On the one hand, he was safe and still alive. On the other, he wasn't there to protect his family when the author of notes broke in, killing his wife Thera, daughter Christeen and son Anthony. Oh, how the somewhat predictable irony still burns him to this very day... 

On the brink of insanity, Garrett wouldn't accept his mistake, if it could be called that, cost the life of his entire family. Still in mourning, he decided to seek for a way to bring his family back. That is when Garret Herman began to fade away, planting the seeds for the man who would be known as Mozz. In the months following his family's death, Mozz would join several religious and occult organisations, seeking for a way to bring his family back. But nothing seemed to be what he sought after. No religion or cult could give him the answers he was looking for. Until one day - an illumination...

What happened right there and then is often subject to debate. But consensus is, through a savant combination of incantations, Mozz was able to relinquish his humanity to become an omniscient being of tremendous power. He often claims to act on behalf of "his God", yet no one can put their finger on which deity he refers to. But that is utterly insignificant - all one needs to know is that Mozz The Omniscient is a dangerous, unpredictable psychopath with tremendous capacities.

In battle, Mozz can turn his limbs into series of tendrils that turn into weapons. The mass of tendril tends to be punctuated with one or more vertical-slit eye(s), probably a symbol of his omniscience, or a mark of whichever deity he claims to be working for. And as if it wasn't enough, Mozz's screams can be so loud and penetrating they can kill a person, if exposed for too long.
